Congratulations to DeLand High School’s only National Merit Scholar Finalist for the 2018 graduating class, Christopher Heydolph!

About 1.6 million students take the PSAT. Of these juniors, about 16,000 gain scores that qualify them as Semifinalists (that's around 1%). This group is narrowed down to 15,000, who become Finalists, one of which is our very own Heydolph.

Heydolph is a part of various clubs here, including, National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, the Academic Team Captain, the Computer Science Club Vice President and IB club.

“I was extremely ecstatic because I know how exclusive it is, and knowing that I am in the top one percent is just incredible and sentimental to me,” he said.

Congrats again to this remarkable Bulldog on his accomplishments as we wish him the best of luck for his future.
