DeLand High is proud to announce that we have two seniors making names for themselves by earning national honors.

Evie Meckley was recently notified that she is a semifinalist in the National Merit Scholarship program. Evie earned this designation for scoring in the top 1% when he took the PSAT as a Junior last year. She will now be able to apply to become a Finalist and apply for scholarships to assist with college. Evie is part of DeLand’s International Baccalaureate program and is currently ranked 4th in the class of 2021.

Dylan Addonizio was notified in July that he was selected as First Chair Clarinet for the National Association for Music Education’s All-National Concert Band. The selection was a direct reflection of Dylan’s dedication and hard work in his music. Dylan is one of only two musicians from Florida to be selected this year’s ensemble. Dylan is a 4 year member of the DHS Band, takes Advanced Placement courses and is in the top 10% of his class.

We are very proud of Evie & Dylan. We look forward to see what accomplishments the future holds for them.
