Congratulations to Jim Lowenstein on being named as DeLand High’s Teacher of the Year. Mr. Lowe has been teaching at DeLand High for over 25 years and has a deep understanding of how to effectively communicate with students, establish positive connections that allows him to inspire his students in the classroom and beyond. One of his former students recently earned a Sport Emmy. He is known as a down-to-earth and dedicated teacher among his peers. He is a great problem solver and is always ready to help with any project on campus.
Mr. Lowe is the CTE Department chair, former CTE facilitator and a coach in 3 sports. Coach Lowe is the longest continuously service athletic coach at DeLand. He is an instrumental part at many events on campus, including but not limited to running the jumbotron at home football games, Bulldog Palooza, the Homecoming Growl, coordinating events to be broadcast on Bulldog TV, and more.
