The Daytona Beach News-Journal just announced the Medallion of Excellence recipients for the Class of 2021. Three DeLand High Seniors were named among the recipients in the Volusia-Flagler area. Caitlin Lauer, Georgia Lee, & Josh Whittaker were this year’s recipients from DeLand High. All three hold outstanding GPA’s and are ranked in the top ten percent of their graduating class.

Caitlin is in DHS’ International Baccalaureate program and holds a 4.61 GPA. She is ranked 12th in her class and is the president of the French National Honor Society, as well as a member of the National Honor Society, & French Club.

Georgia currently holds a 4.56 GPA while taking dual enrollment classes at Daytona State and Advanced Placement courses on campus. Georgia has played basketball all four years at DeLand. She is also very active around campus and has organized a free prom dress event for students who could not afford one.

Josh is also in DHS’ International Baccalaureate program and holds a 4.61 GPA. Josh is the President of the local Junior NAACP chapter. He is also an active member of the DeLand High Marching Bulldogs and Air Force jROTC

We are very proud of these Bulldogs for being recognized for not only their academic achievements, but also their extracurricular and community service activities.
