behind piece, music, 30 seconds of choreography.
* World Investigation Abstract Due: Sept. 2, 2011
Abstract should include a brief description of the
nature of dance investigation. Be sure to include the
name of your familiar and unfamiliar dance culture/
tradition along with 3 primary and 3 secondary sources
for both your familiar and unfamiliar forms.
3IB Dance summer assignment (Seniors)
* Composition & Analysis Due: Friday, August 26, 2011

Proposals must include: Working title of dance, Intent
behind piece, music, 30 seconds of choreography.
* World Investigation First Drafts Due: Sept. 2, 2011
SL/ HL Outline detailing the treatment of your familiar
& unfamiliar dance forms
(refer to outline handout and dance investigation
rubric)
HL first draft minimum word count 1,250
Papers must address criterion A-F at HL
HL Note: Be certain to include how you gained a more
developed practical knowledge of the familiar dance work
inlcluding movement knowledge of the short extract from
your familiar form. Also be certain to clairfy how you
gained some practical knowledge of your unfamiliar
culture/ tradition, not necessarily of your unfamiliar
forms short extract.
SL first draft minimum word count 800
Papers must address criterion A-E at SL
