Theatre Tech Members' Information
Upcoming Shows: Techs Needed! |
| 1. |
Pay is $5.25 per hour worked. |
| 2. |
There are usually two rehearsals before major events. Some events, such as ROTC, have no rehearsals. |
| 3. |
Do not arrive late. Arriving late or not showing up will warrant removal from Theatre Tech. |
| 4. |
You may arrive early, but not earlier than 15 minutes before rehearsal is to start. If the sponsor asks you to begin work early, make sure he/she understands that they will pay for that time. |
| 5. |
Complete time sheet daily. If you do not sign in and out you will not get paid. |
| 6. |
Do not do a major refocus of lights during rehearsal. Fine-tuning is OK. (A music stand with a white piece of paper, set at head height, works well when you are focusing alone.) |
| 7. |
When focusing lights record the hours in which you spend. Add that to the time sheet. |
| 8. |
Ask assistance of custodians for moving the big ladder, or have at least two able-bodied people. |
| 9. |
Nobody is allowed in the Tech Booth during rehearsals or performances except Theatre Tech personnel running the show and any trainee given specific permission by the Theatre Tech Sponsor (Mr. Scarborough). There are no exceptions to this rule. If you have trouble with student directors who want to talk to you during the rehearsal or performance offer them the use of headphones. |
| 10. |
Sound tapes should contain only one number, beginning just after the leader on the tape. If you have trouble enforcing, see Mr. Scarborough. Please recommend that the talent use the original CD. |
| 11. |
Remember that you are a paid employee. The club sponsor is your contracted employer. You can offer valuable assistance to the sponsors, but do not offer your opinions unless you are asked. Always be polite, never condescending. |
| 12. |
Missing a rehearsal or performance for any non-life-threatening reason will warrant removal from Theatre Tech. |
| 13. |
Turn in time sheet to Theatre Tech Sponsor as soon as the final performance is over. |
| 14. |
Clean up, put away, and lock up. The equipment we lose is equipment we will not have to operate with. |
| 15. |
Please report any damages to facilities or equipment to the Theatre Tech Sponsor immediately! |
| 16. |
Take out all trash and leave the Tech Booth clean. It is not the job of the Theatre Tech Sponsor to clean the booth after a show! You will not receive your check until this is completed. |
