FFA
Future Farmers of America

The FFA was originally started to prepare students to return to the family farm and make a living farming. Today, the FFA is much more.

FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success  through agricultural education-this is the main goal of the National FFA Organization.  For more than 70 years, the FFA has complemented agricultural instruction by making classroom lessons come to life through realistic applications.

Contact Mr. Brandner if you are interested in joining.  The annual dues for the local, state and national organization are $15.00.  In addition, you have to be enrolled in an agriculture class sometime during the year.  Paying these dues makes you eligible to participate in the many activities that  the FFA has to offer such as horse judging, livestock judging, public speaking contests, horticulture, floriculture, forestry, scholarships, lots and lots of travel opportunities, and much, much more!

Rules/Policies

Due to comments about the overall condition of our school farm, some new rules regarding upkeep will be put into effect March 1, 2004.

1. Buckets are not to be left in the pens or in the small pasture. They must be returned to the feed room when you are done feeding.

2. Anyone caught "borrowing" feed without permission will be asked to remove their animal.

3. There is a major problem with trash at our farm. Students can dump trash cans and pick up. We will institute a clean up schedule. Each student will be assigned a week to clean. You will sweep the feed room and police the grounds (parking area and small pasture) for litter, hay string, etc. Trash cans will be dumped in the dumpster. Failure to comply will result in 1 warning and on the second offense, your animal will be sent home.
