Mr.
Scott's Message

Welcome
to DeLand High School, parents and
students. As the 9th grade assistant
principal, I look forward to a magnificent
school year. DeLand High is an excellent
school and recently received recognition
as an "A" school because
of our students' performance on the
Florida Comprehensive Achievement
Test. We are proud of our talented,
dedicated, and creative students,
teachers, and parents who are part
of Bulldog Country. Our main goal
at DeLand High is to increase the
academic achievement of all our students.
Please take the time to browse through
our web pages to become familiar with
the information pertaining to 9th
grade students and the services provided
to parents. We are proud of our school's
mission which is to provide a variety
of learning experiences that produce
citizens who are ready to face the
challenges of an increasingly complex
society. I hope your experience with
our school will be successful and
satisfying. Thank you..

Discipline
Referral Process
All 9th Grade
teachers are using our 9th Grade Assertive
Discipline Plan to monitor behavioral
concerns within the classroom. Students
will have the opportunity to correct
misbehavior while in the classroom
or the student will be removed from
the class. Parents will be contacted
by a teacher and if necessary, the
student will be given a discipline
referral. Once given a referral, the
student must report to the 9th Grade
Center. A consequence for continued
misbehavior will be issued by the
administrator and a parent will be
contacted. Disciplinary actions included
an after school detention, in-school
suspension, and out of school suspension.
Please feel free to contact Mr. Scott
at ext. 23332 with any questions or
concerns.
Weekly
Progress Reports
Weekly
progress reports can be picked up
in the 9th grade center between the
hours of 7:15 - 3:00. Students are
encouraged to use weekly progress
reports as a way to keep parents informed.
All teachers are willing to sign weekly
progress reports on Fridays. Students
must hand the progress report to their
teachers prior to the start of class. |
