Academy of Building Construction

The mission of the Academy of Building Construction is to inspire interested students to pursue careers in the building construction industry. The Academy will provide a curriculum which will include Building Construction, Carpentry & Cabinet Making, and a mathematics class. The Academy will focus on career preparation by means of a rigorous academic focus and by providing the students with the opportunity to earn the NCCER National Industry Certification. The Academy will raise students commitment to academic excellence and work ethics by encouraging them to take honors, advanced placement and dual enrollment courses, and by teaching employability skills in the construction industry through the use of work-based demonstrations. Students must fill out an application and must meet the following requirements: 2.0 GPA, good attendance record, and a good discipline record.

Engineering Academy

The Engineering Academy is an exciting opportunity for our students to explore the many fields of engineering. The Academy emphasizes math, science, computer, and communication skills, while giving students experience with problem solving, logical sequencing, presentation skills, and organizational skills. Students gain hands-on experience with robotics, computer numerically controlled machines and other industry specific equipment. Students are required to fill out an application which includes teacher recommendations and signed contracts.
