Reminder to all FCA members to sign up immediately for our Thanksgiving Feast to be held on November 24th in our school cafeteria at 600 pm.

Kaitlyn Jones has been selected as FCA’s “Athlete of the Week.” On Tuesday, Kaitlyn scored 3 goals to lead DeLand to an 8-0 win over New Smyrna Beach for our girls soccer team. Good job, Kaitlyn!

Art students and teachers at Deland and Mainland High school are creating ceramic bowls to be sold as part of a fundraiser/dinner to raise money for the hungry. This project is called EMPTY BOWLS. The dinner comprised of soup, salad and bread sticks will be held at Mainland High School, Friday December 12 at 6 pm located in their culinary department. Many area businesses are donating food for this very worthy cause. Suggested donations start at $ 10.00 and along with that fee diners also get to keep a hand crafted work of art as a reminder of the many empty bowls around the world. The proceeds will support local food pantries to feed the hungry during the Holidays. If you are interested in attending this dinner please contact Peggy Banks for reservations and the advanced purchase of tickets. Thank you for your generous support of our students, but more importantly for your assistance in helping those less fortunate in our community.

The Media Center is now open 45 minutes after the school on Tuesdays, Wednesday and Thursdays.

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes is still open to new members. We meet Monday nights at 6:15 in the black box and Fridays during both lunches in 8-102. You don't have to be an athlete or come to all of the meetings. Bring your friends and see what we're all about.

The Community Service Hours Training will be held immediately after school on Thursday, November 20th in 8-100. Please be prompt.
