The High Achievers will be hosting Dinner In Da' Dogbowl on Monday March 27th, 2017 at 7:00pm. The featured movie will be "Doctor Strange". Dinner will be on a first come, first served bases. Bring a blanket to sit on and a friend to share the experience. Please come out and join us.?
We will be having our next Blood Drive next Tuesday March 28th in the Foyer of the new gym. HOSA members will be signing up donors during both lunches in front of the Cafeteria this Friday, March 24th and next Monday, March 27th. Come on out and sign up to save a life. The 2nd annual Bulldog Bazaar will be on Saturday, March 25th. You can help make this another successful year and earn volunteer hours by donating gently used items for the yard sale. You will earn one community service hour for every 5 items you bring in. Items can be dropped off at ROTC before school, after school and during 2nd lunch.
It’s time Freshmen and Sophomores! Time to determine who is number one: The class of 2020 or the class of 2019? Take the testing challenge. DeLand High will recognize the class with the highest percentage of students tested on both the ELA Writing and ELA Reading Spring assessments. Which class will it be?
AP Students: Be sure to check the school's website for the AP Exam List. AP exams will be ordered on March 9th. Exam administration will start Monday May 1 through May 12.
The Florida Standards ELA Writing assessment will begin on February 28 for all Freshmen and Sophomores. Testing lists for both grade levels have been posted online. Be sure to refer to the school’s website at www.delandhs.org to know when, where and what time you report for testing.
Pearson FCAT Reading and Algebra 1 Retakes for 11th and 12th graders will begin March 31 – April 7.
Attention Students and Parents: DeLand High's School Advisory Council will host its' annual Academic Awards and Performing Arts Ceremony on Friday April 21. There will be an awards breakfast for seniors who have achieved a 3.9 Cumulative GPA each of their four years at DHS. There will also be an awards ceremony recognizing all other students who achieved a 3.9 Cumulative GPA at the end of the first semester. Be on the lookout for your invitation.
Senior AP Students: Don't forget! All Superintendents’ Diploma of Distinction applications are due to Mr. Scott on Friday May 5. Applications can be found on our school’s website. No application, no consideration!
Florida A&M University spring review is March 25th. Juniors and Seniors interested in attending should stop by the guidance office for more information.
Attention all students needing Community Service Hours for Bright Futures or any other scholarships. Service hour trainings will be held the 3rd Thursday of each month and it is mandatory for students to attend a training session before beginning your service hours. For more information on Community Service Hours and the training sessions see Ms. Ladas in the Guidance office. The next meeting is Thursday, March 23rd, in the Media Center from 3-3:30pm.
