Saturday’s FHSAA State Final was the final piece to the puzzle. She not only won states in the 154lb class in Olympic and Traditional, but she also set a new clean and jerk record at 240lbs as well as a new Snatch record at 205lbs. After this weekend’s event, Mia Rhodes currently holds the All-Time School Record in Clean and Jerk(240lbs) and Snatch(205lbs), she finished off States with a 175lb Bench as well. Hurricane Nicole Makeup Plan

We are pleased to announce that Volusia County Schools and Volusia United Educators have reached an agreement to make up instructional time lost due to Hurricane Nicole.  A total of 10 hours of instruction was lost.  The instructional time will be made up utilizing 11 consecutive Early Release Wednesdays beginning on January 11, 2023.

The following dates will now be regular school hours for students:

  • January 11, 18, and 25
  • February 1, 8, 15, and 22
  • March 1, 8, and 22

In order to mitigate the teacher planning time lost as a result of utilizing Early Release Wednesdays, the following meeting requirements have been adjusted:

PLC meetings scheduled for the weeks of January 18, February 15, and March 1 will be canceled to allow teachers to have individual planning time.
