Audition Week:

Tuesday, May 16, 2023 – Dance Instruction 4:30 – 7:00 Dance Room

Wednesday, May 17, 2023 – Dance Instruction 3:30 – 6:00 Dance Room

Thursday, May 18, 2023 – Auditioned Adjudication 4:30 – 7:00 Dance Room

Friday, May 19, 2023 – Final castings will be posted in the front office,

on the dance room door, and school web site at the end of the school day.

Thursday,  May 25, 2023 – Information meeting & uniform fitting for

2023 - 2024 Avant Garde team members 4:30 – 6:00 - Dance Room (Bldg. 13-109)

Summer Driver's Ed
Summer Driver's Education Registration

Registration for summer driver’s education will be Tuesday May 16 at 8:00pm on the district website.  Learn to drive in this two and a half week course.  Day one attendance is mandatory and students are only allowed to miss one class. Classes will run Mon-Thur 8:00am-3:00pm. Spots fill up quickly!

2022 - 2023 Climate Survey is now available

The DeLand High Climate Surveys for 2022-2023 survey window is now open and will close on May 5th. Our goal is to get as much participation from as many stakeholders as possible to gain a global view of how we are doing as a school community. We will use the results of these surveys to help us build the School Improvement Plan for next year.

Mia Rhodes FHSAA Girls Weightlifting State Champion

It has been 15 years since Deland High School Girls Weightlifting had an Individual Champion. This past weekend on February 18th, 2023, Mia Rhodes competed in Olympic and Traditional Lifts. Mia who’s a senior this year, returned to the high school season with one goal in mind and that was a state title and a state record. She had been dominant in her weight class(154) all season, she was the 5 Star Conference Champion as well as both District and Regional Champion.

Saturday’s FHSAA State Final was the final piece to the puzzle. She not only won states in the 154lb class in Olympic and Traditional, but she also set a new clean and jerk record at 240lbs as well as a new Snatch record at 205lbs. After this weekend’s event, Mia Rhodes currently holds the All-Time School Record in Clean and Jerk(240lbs) and Snatch(205lbs), she finished off States with a 175lb Bench as well. She will be announcing soon where she will be furthering her academic and lifting career.
