Medical Academy Program

Students in the Medical Academy gain a comprehensive understanding of human anatomy and physiology, disease processes, and healthcare systems. The curriculum develops knowledge of emergency medical care, healthcare careers, and professional responsibilities while providing hands-on training in patient assessment, medical procedures, and the safe use of emergency medical equipment. Students learn Basic Life Support including the usage of an Automated External Defibrillator and can become CPR certified. Job shadowing opportunities are available through Advent Health and Halifax Hospitals and senior students have the opportunity to earn industry-recognized certifications.
